Alnwick Castle this Easter
A Magical Visit to Remember
With the Easter holidays just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start planning your Easter trip to Alnwick Castle.
The Company of Artisans
Northumberland’s most magical and celebrated location, Alnwick Castle, is set to open for the new season at the Easter weekend. The castle’s family events get off to a busy start with the ‘Company of Artisans’ showing weekend visitors how to master a variety of artistic techniques that have their roots firmly in the Middle Ages. There’s also plenty of themed stalls to enjoy as the castle springs into life for Easter.
Broomstick Flying Lessons
As any Harry Potter fan will tell you – Alnwick Castle plays a vital role in the globally successful movies series production. Beginning on the 29th March, castle visitors are invited to learn how to fly a broomstick with the skilled and mysterious resident wizarding professors. Trainees will be shown the basics of broomstick flying and will even be able to take magical photographs of their flying skills!
Twenty minute training sessions are available for budding wizards of any age throughout the day – check out the castle’s ‘What’s On’ boards for times on your arrival. Book your free slot early as places are sure to fill up fast… then prepare to take to the skies.
The Medieval Alchemist
The castle has many ancient connections with alchemy – the art of turning base metals into gold and the creation of the Philosopher’s Stone.
Beginning on 30th March, Doctor John Greene – a medieval alchemist of fine repute – will be visiting the castle. Transforming the Artisans Courtyard into a fabulous laboratory of alchemy and sorcery, the Doctor will perform a host of awe-inspiring experiments – sure to amaze the whole family!
